Julie Wagner is in her second season as a coach at Indiana University Kokomo. Coach Wagner is four time Howard County Women’s Golf Champion and has been the tournament director for the last 9 years. She is also an active member at Wildcat Creek Golf Club by directing women’s leagues, tournaments, and camps. Coach Wagner is also works in the Campus Police and Parking division on the IU Kokomo campus.
Her coaching career began at Indiana Wesleyan University where she started the golf program. In her four years of coaching with the Wildcats her teams won six tournament invitationals and were runner-up seven times. All four years she had individuals and teams make the NCCAA National Tournament.
Coach Wagner is a Licensed Golf Teaching Professional through the United States Golf Teachers Federation. She also holds a W.G.C.A. Certified Professional Golf Coach License. She has spent over 40 hours of Vision 54 coaching training sessions under founders Lynn Marriott and Pia Nilsson the top two LPGA Teaching Professionals in the U.S. in Arizona.
"My coaching philosophy encompasses the Vision 54 concept. Golf is not just about technique, it is about a balance of other factors that create problems with technique and people need to practice these concepts as well in order to become a master of variability in the game of golf," Wagner said of her coaching style.
Coach Wagner earned her Bachelors and Masters degrees from Indiana Wesleyan University in Business Management.
Prior to coaching and teaching golf, Coach Wagner spent 15 years in the automotive industry with GM and Delphi automotive. She resides in Kokomo with her husband and two dogs.
