The Indiana University Kokomo men's and women's golf teams found success on their home links as the women's team captured second place overall.
The IU Kokomo Cougar Invitational was a 36-hole tournament hosted at Wildcat Creek Golf Club over the course of two days.
The women's golf team secured their first tournament award in the program's short two-year history after finishing second.
Out of a total of 23 individual golfers, four Cougar women finished in the top ten.
Leading the Cougars with a total of 174, AnneMarie Balsbaugh finished sixth after shooting an 88 on day one and improving for an 86 on day two.
"Anne Marie is just very solid for us right now," Coach Julie Wagner touched on Balsbaugh performance post-tournament.
Tying for seventh, Brooke Troutman moved up three spots for day one with a 92-86 to tie for a 178.
Also moving up a trio of slots, Lela Crawford improved from a 94 in round one to an 86 in round two (180) to tie with Bailey Troutman, who consistently hit 90s both rounds (180), for ninth place.
Hattie Johnson contributed to the team's second-place finish with a 99 each day (198).
"This team is becoming a solid day two performing team. A lot of great things happened for this team this weekend. We had a great talk before day two and I laid out some objectives for them to focus on. This team was driven and every one excelled on day two and won their first tournament award in program history," Coach Wagner enthusiastically commented about the women's performance.
