Records fall in Cougar Spring Invite

The IU Kokomo Cougar Invitational was a 36-hole tournament hosted at Wildcat Creek Golf Club over the course of two days.
The Indiana University Kokomo men's and women's golf teams hosted the IU Kokomo Cougar Classic this past weekend, where Taylor Fletcher earned runner-up for the men individually while breaking records.
The IU Kokomo Cougar Invitational was a 36 hole tournament hosted at Wildcat Creek Golf Club over the course of two days.
Leading the men's team, Taylor Fletcher broke an 18-hole school record with a personal best of 68 on day two while shattering the 36-hole scored record by nine strokes with a total score of 145 with a day one score of 77. This helped boost Fletcher to a second place finish out of 41 total golfers.
Coach Dan Giesecke stated, "it was a breakout day for Taylor, I couldn't be happier for this young man at this point in his career."
Austin Welch tied finished second for the Cougars, tying for the eighth spot with a 158 (77-81).
Playing consistently throughout the tournament, Trent Elliott tallied an 82 on day one and an 83 on day two to tie for 17th place (165).
Improving by 12 strokes from round one to round two, Max Escamilla moved from a 93 to an 81 earning him a 174 overall.
