HARRISON, OHIO -- The Indiana University Kokomo women's golf team came within 24 strokes of first place at the Miami Whitewater Golf Course.

AnneMarie Balsbaugh and Lela Crawford led the Cougars, tying for third place. Both women scored a 93 on day one and 86 in round two, for a final score of 179 (+37).
"I'm so pleased with Anne. She has produced the kind of golf score I know she is capable of in every tournament on day two," Coach Julie Wagner commented on Balsbaugh's performance.
Tying for the 12th , Hattie Johnson secured a 191 total after shooting a 95 her first round and 96 in the second (+49).
Freshman Brooke Troutman posted the fourth-best score for the Cougars with a 192 after a 14-point improvement from day one (103-89). Troutman's round two score of 89 was also the first time she broke 90 in her college career.
With a 101 in round one and a 103 on the second day, Bailey Troutman finished with a 204 (+62).
Coach Wagner remarked on the team post-tournament, "I could not be happier with this group of ladies. They truly fought as hard as they could and wanted the program's first win so badly."
